Fenwick Island Community Information
Just north of Ocean City and south of Bethany Beach, Fenwick Island is a water-sports enthusiasts' dream hometown. Bordered by the sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean and the Little Assawoman Bay, residents can partake in local golf courses, fishing, boating, sailing and shopping. Known as a "Fisherman's paradise," a bevy of bluefish, rockfish and flounder are there for the taking.
Only about one mile long and a half-mile wide, residents welcome summertime tourists as a relaxing getaway spot. With fine dining and casual restaurants, diverse retailers and plenty to do, there's something for everyone.
Just to the north is the Delaware Seashore State Park, which presents a pleasant beach walk or bird watcher miles of dune and coast scenery to enjoy. Just a short ride away and beyond the historic Fenwick Lighthouse, the hustling boardwalk and lively nightlife of Ocean City beckons the residents with additional fun.
With two high schools, two middle schools, one special education and alternative school and seven elementary schools, there are plenty of educational choices for the family. In addition, eight colleges including Salisbury University, University of Delaware and Wesley College are within the vicinity.
Residents can watch the sunrise over the ocean or the sunset over the bay, enjoying laid-back island living in a safe, family friendly environment. Real estate options here consist of single-family homes, townhouses, condominiums, and land property.
